The Strider Fly
Bugs. They’re a big part of what makes the world go round. While they may seem annoying to people, they’re an integral piece of the ecosystem.
This is very apparent in aquatic environments. Take fish, for example. Bugs and aquatic invertebrates have been a vital aspect of the many fish species successes since the beginning of time. Such creatures make up a large part of a fish’s diet, especially when it comes to fish like trout, perch, crappies, and bluegills.
The relationship between such organisms is one understood by many. However, there’s no angling group that understands this as intimately as fly fishermen. They spend hours handcrafting imitations that can dupe the wariest of fish species. Through a combination of fur, feather, and a variety of other synthetic and natural materials, these craftsman create some of the best imitations known to man.
For 2024, Eurotackle is proud to introduce the all-new Strider Fly. Coming in at 1/32 oz, the Strider packs some serious fish catching punch into a micro package. Inspired by the water strider, the Strider Fly combines elements sought after by both ice and open water anglers.
“We’ve been working on a fly for years, “says Ben Vnh, owner of Eurotackle. “It took some time to get things right, though. I wanted a bait that fished like an ice fly, but was different from what’s the on the market.”
The “Fly” starts off with a high-end Ahrex hook and slotted tungsten bead - a combination relied on by anglers that fish the highest level. The tungsten bead is key to the bait’s success allowing it to sink rather quickly despite the added material.
The compact design features a wrapped body and lengthy, rubber legs. “The legs allow for a very natural action,” adds Ben. “They’re perfect for enticing bites.” Despite its realistic action, the fly, and its appendages, are extremely durable.
The Strider Fly is offered in six different color schemes - including three glow options. Each package features two flies.
